This is the most incredible and comprehensive book on caring for your children using good old-fashioned common sense. I had the privilege of knowing Dr. Denmark. She cared for my crying, infant son after x-rays of his stomach showed no blockages. We couldn't figure out why he screamed ALL THE TIME. After taking him to Dr. Denmark, she told me to put him to bed on his tummy(following her instructions to setup a proper bed), diaper while he was on his tummy, cradle him in my arm face down on his tummy with his chin draped over the elbow of my arm, and bathe him on his tummy. All these things were to be done until he was able to roll over on his back by himself. He was experiencing colic, and if I followed her advice, those symptoms would subside as it was much easier for gas to pass while he was on his stomach. She told me that he had to be on a three hour breast feeding schedule (four hours for formula-fed babies). He needed to feel secure with a regular schedule, and he would not over-eat which would give him a stomach-ache which would cause cry which would cause more pain....and colic. I did what she said and never had another problem. My son is a secure 15 year old now because I followed every bit of advice she ever gave...including no milk or formula after 9 months. God bless Dr. Denmark and her family! She is an amazing woman.
